Perfect Husband, Perfect Family, Perfect Secret. #Review #TheMarriageBetrayal #PsychologicalThriller #NetGalley @ShaliniBoland @Bookouture

Today I am thrilled to be sharing my review of The Marriage Betrayal by Shalini Boland. Happy publication day Shalini.

About the Book:

‘Daddy has been lying.’

Faye Townsend has planned the perfect summer trip for her family. But returning to the small seaside town her husband grew up in does not go to plan, the rain pours and the long days become stifling. And then the unthinkable happens…

Her husband Jake and her six-year-old son Dylan go for an early morning walk along the beautiful, windswept clifftops. They don’t come back.

As the hours tick by, Dylan’s red baseball cap is found on the beach and Faye finds herself being questioned by the police. They want to know everything about the man she married – is Faye ready to face her husband’s dark past? Or will she have to confront her own secrets first?

And just how far will a mother go to save her only child?

I absolutely love Shalini’s work, and this book is no exception. They just keep getting better and better.

Billed as a “totally gripping and heart-stopping psychological thriller full of twists” is exactly how to describe this book. Shalini knows her stuff in this genre, and she has created a story that I could not get enough of and read in one sitting. Make sure you have nothing else to do when starting this book, as it will have you hooked from the get go right up until the final page with a twist to end all twists! It’s so good!

Shalini does a great job in drawing the reader in and making you feel a part of the story, with believable characters and with a beautiful picturesque setting. Any story featuring a sea side town is always a winner for me. I felt like I was there with the characters.

The subplot in this book compliments the main story well, and builds up the right amount of suspense and intrigue, and you know that the outcome is going to be jaw dropping, and believe me it is!

This is one of my shorter reviews, but as the blurb tells enough of what the book is about, I don’t need to go into any more detail on that and I don’t want to give anything away! Just know that this is an amazing read and I can’t wait to see what Shalini comes up with next.

I can’t recommend this book enough!

Thank-you to NetGalley, Bookouture and Shalini Boland for allowing me to read an advance copy of The Marriage Betrayal in exchange for an honest review.

All opinions are my own and are not biased in anyway.
