She’s back and this time she has a score to settle.

Anna Davis and Freddie Tyler are finally getting their lives back on track when an unexpected face turns up on Freddie’s doorstep. Someone from the past. And she delivers a blow that will tear their lives apart.

Reeling from the news, Anna throws herself into her work. Her clubs are doing well and she’s opening a new business venture with best friend, Tanya. But she’s worried that her relationship with Freddie could be about to fall apart.

Freddie’s got big problems with the business. A new gang is in town, and they’re muscling in on Tyler turf and need to be dealt with. Plus, he’s still being closely watched by a Met detective determined to bring him down.

As Freddie plots to take out his rivals, tensions between him and Anna grow. Could this spell the end of their relationship? And will the rogue detective finally get the chance to arrest Freddie – burning the empire he’s built from scratch to the ground?

OMG, HOW HAVE I NOT READ ANY BOOKS IN THIS SERIES BEFORE THIS ONE! Yes I’m yelling, but at myself and at my own foolishness! My rule is that I don’t read any book in a series without starting with the first one, but I have broken the rule already this year a couple of times and this one had me so intrigued, not only by the blurb, but also on other readers recommendations on this series. I did hesitate for a bit being the 5th in the series but thought I would just do it and I am so bloody glad I did! This book is SENSATIONAL!

Emma has created a well plotted story that grabs your attention right from the start and I was able to follow without having read the other books. Reckless Girl picks up straight after the events that occurred in Fierce Girl but Emma does touch on what happened so I was brought up to speed and not once did I question what was going on. The story moves at a fast pace and I found myself caught up in the drama of it all and not wanting it to end. It is full of twists and turns to keep you on your toes, is completely addictive, has an oh my god ending and I loved absolutely every word of it!

I was invested in the characters right from the get go. Although not on the right side of the law, there is just something about them all that makes you look past this and you are on their side with everything that they do. I have read a few books featuring a family tied to the underworld but the Tylers are a force unlike any other and are definitely my favourite. I was worried that I was not going to be able to connect with any of them, but Emma has created them and brought them to life through amazing writing and where she captures the heart and soul of each one perfectly. Freddie and Anna are a match made in heaven and I look forward to going back and reading about their history together and how it all started.

I absolutely loved Emma’s writing style. It is engaging, fluid, emotive and you can tell through the prose, that she loves these characters just as much as her readers do. Without wanting to give anything away, there is a part of the story that I sensed would have been difficult for Emma making the decision that she did and to then have to write it. I still get goosebumps when I think back on this part in the book. It is shocking, unexpected and completely heart wrenching. Have the tissues handy!

After I finished reading Reckless Girl and when I picked my jaw back off the ground after that ending, I immediately went and purchased the other books in the series. I look forward to reading them but also need the next book in the series right now! This is one that I will be waiting very impatiently for! It was an absolute pleasure to read and review Reckless Girl and I can not recommend this book highly enough!

Thank-you to NetGalley, Bookouture and Emma Tallon for allowing me to read an advanced copy of Reckless Girl which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

About Emma Tallon

Emma Tallon is a British, gritty crime writer, adventurer, Londoner and mother to a young son. Starting her career a few years ago as a ghostwriter, Emma crafted some of the most adventurous, edgy and heart-wrenching stories you can find on the shelves today.

In March 2017 Emma stepped out of the literary shadows and self-published her first book, Life Game. The book was an instant success, the results far exceeding anything she had expected. As news of Life Games popularity spread, she joined forces with W.F.Howes and the audiobook was launched in October 2017.

In December 2017, Emma signed a three book deal with publishers Bookouture. This included Life Game which was changed, re-edited and re-released as Runaway Girl.

Drawing inspiration for her books from a mixture of her own observations and an active imagination, the characters Emma paints are colourful and larger than life. Her story lines are an interesting recipe of deep emotion and violent grit, that keep her readers engrossed.

With more books in the works for this series already, Emma has many more stories planned out for the future.
