Blood is thicker than water, the family bond stronger than any other.

They think it’s all forgotten.

But I don’t forget.

The Laird-Shaw family live a life most only dream about. Self-made millionaires Gavin Shaw and Stevie Laird built their business from humble roots to global turnover, Stevie’s wife – and Gavin’s sister – Eva is never out of the style pages, while daughter Carla has used her huge following as an Instagram influencer to shine a spotlight on mental health issues.

But behind the glamour lies a web of lies; hidden secrets so explosive that they would bring this family dynasty crashing down. But someone out there knows the truth…and now they’re stepping out of the shadows to reveal the dark heart of the Laird-Shaw family. Because when the truth comes to light, there’s nowhere to hide…and all the money in the world can’t save this family from themselves.

A gripping psychological thriller that will hook you from page one – the perfect read for fans of C.L. Taylor, T.M. Logan and Adele Parks.

I can’t believe that I have not read a book by Alex before and I am so glad that I have now rectified this mistake by reading She Who Lies and purchasing her other books. I have definitely been missing out!

For She Who Lies, Alex has crafted a thrilling plot right up my alley. A celebrity family beloved by all, but with hidden secrets that if revealed would bring this family dynasty down. I love these kinds of stories and Alex has done a phenomenal job with this one.

The characters in this story are diverse and are a mixed bag of likeable and unlikeable ones. Alex brings each of their personalities out beautifully and they all just come to life so vividly through the pages.

I really like how the book was structured and how it was broken up into three parts starting with the present day, moving to the past then back to the present for the final thrilling act.

I really enjoyed the ease of Alex’s writing style which is so effortless in its approach. She drew me into the story immediately and I could not tear myself away from it which resulted in me reading it in one sitting.

She Who Lies has it all. It is a deliciously wicked tale that is a fast-paced read full of lies, deception and with a twist that I did not see coming. Well played Alex, very well played.

It was an absolute pleasure to read and review She Who Lies which I can’t recommend highly enough and is another addition to my contenders list for my best books of 2020.

This review will be added to Goodreads, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, Amazon Australia, Amazon US, Apple Books, Kobo & Google Play. As I am from Australia, unfortunately, I am unable to add to Amazon UK.
