You’re not who you say you are. Neither is she.
She thinks she knows me.
She believes my marriage is falling apart at the seams, that my husband can barely look me in the eyes. She thinks I’m desperate for a baby, that my longing for a family keeps me up at night. As much as I hate to admit it, all of this is true.
She thinks I listen to her advice, that I care about her opinion. That couldn’t be further from the truth.
Because she has no idea who I am. She has no clue that I know everything.
I know her secret. I know that she did the unforgivable. I know how many lives she ruined.
I know exactly what she did. And I’m here for her.
An utterly gripping, addictive and shocking read about the dark secrets we’re ashamed to admit, and the lengths people go to for revenge. Fans of K.L. Slater, My Lovely Wife and The Wife Between Us will be racing through the pages, gasping at the twists, and reeling from the explosive ending of this unmissable page-turner.
Holy moly what a thrilling psychological thriller Ruth has given us! Hooked immediately from the blurb, I couldn’t wait to get stuck in. Everything else was put aside and after reading the prologue, I just knew I had to make myself as comfortable as possible, as there was no way I was going to be able to put the book down! I was right…
Ruth has crafted a story that is fraught with so much tension and suspense, I was on the edge of my seat, my knuckles turning white from gripping my kindle so hard. If I had of been reading the paperback version, there would have been a number of paper cuts as I frantically turned the pages in my haste to see how this story was all going to unfold! I was not disappointed.
There are a mixed bunch of characters that you will either like or dislike. The main characters of Beth and Danielle are so extremely complex and had me second-guessing them all of the time. Told from their points of view via alternating chapters, each one competes with the other as the story progresses as to who becomes more of the unreliable narrator in the reader’s eyes. Ruth really has done such a great job in their creation and bringing them to life.
Ruth had me under her spell and I was completely engrossed and captivated. I found her writing this time around to be more compelling and engaging than her previous works, but this is in no way devalues those books, as they are both great reads. Her storytelling is just on another level with this book, which made it stand out all the more and makes it for me, her best book yet! I look forward to many more books from Ruth.
I Know Your Secret, is a fast paced read that messes with your head, has some thrilling twists and turns, shocking revelations and plenty of OMG moments as the pennies are dropped and everything falls into place. A chilling read that will get you in its clutches and won’t let you go until the final page.A true psychological thriller in every sense of the word. It was an absolute pleasure to read and review I Know Your Secret which I highly recommend.
