Alexandra Avellino has just found her father’s mutilated body, and needs the police right away. She believes her sister killed him, and that she is still in the house with a knife.

Sofia Avellino has just found her father’s mutilated body and needs the police right away. She believes her sister, Alexandra did it, and that she is still in the house, locked in the bathroom.

Both women are to go on trial at the same time. A joint trial in front of one jury.

But one of these women is lying. One of them is a murderer. Sitting in a jail cell, about to go on trial with her sister for murder, you might think that this is the last place she expected to be.

You’d be wrong…

For the Steve Cavanagh fans out there, you will pleased to know that I have come out from underneath my rock and have finally read one of his books! In the past, I would never had dreamed of reading a series without starting book one, let alone start at book five, but since starting my blog I have realised that I have been missing out on some great books, so now when I come across a book that grabs my attention no matter where it is in the series, I will read it!

I must admit though, I still went in with some trepidation knowing that there would be vital information that I would have missed, but in this case, Steve Cavanagh immediately put my mind at ease and I had no trouble following along at all. The story that he has put together here focusses on the main storyline alone, without going into too much detail of previous books, whilst providing just enough to go on.

I love the plot for this book and I was so caught up in the drama of it all. Right from the beginning, Steve Cavanagh gets your attention and heart racing for what’s to come. Two sisters each blaming the other for the murder of their father, makes for such a fascinating read and I felt like I was on the jury watching it all unfold. The legality side of this book is just exceptional and until I finished the book and learn’t about Steve Cavanagh, I didn’t know that he was a lawyer, so he definitely uses his skills to the maximum level here.

Right off the bat I connected with Eddie Flynn. He has been expertly created as perfectly imperfect and he is a really great character. I did dig a little into his background from reading other reviews from previous books to enlighten myself, which did give me further insights into where he started, to where he is now. I also have to mention the sisters. Terrifying as they are, oh boy they have been created brilliantly to rattle you and they do this in spades!

I enjoyed the ease of Steve Cavanagh’s writing and the pace of the book. Everything flowed really well and there were no plot holes. Although I did predict where it was going to head, this did not ruin the enjoyment of the book for me and there were still some twist and turns and shocking moments to surprise me along the way.

All up Fifty Fifty is a twisted and chilling read that will keep you up until all hours, furiously flicking the pages to see how it is going to unfold. I hope to get a chance to go back and read the previous books, but I will be most definitely staying along for the ride for future books. It was an absolute pleasure to read and review Fifty Fifty which I highly recommend.

Thank you to Steve Cavanagh, Orion Books and NetGalley for allowing me to read an advanced copy of Fifty Fifty which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

This review will be added to, Goodreads, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, Amazon Australia & Amazon US. I will also add to NetGalley, Apple Books, Kobo, Google Play, Barnes & Noble & Waterstones if available. As I am from Australia, I am unable to add to Amazon UK.
