What if someone from your past tried to destroy your future?
Someone from her past wants to destroy her future…
When Melanie Scott is promoted to junior partner, she thinks she has put her past behind her and while out celebrating her promotion, she meets the handsome and charming Oliver Field.
Melanie has her doubts and is haunted by her mother’s critical voice, which reminds her that she’s messed up before. But when Oliver invites her for dinner, she buries her feeling and accepts his invitation.
She deserves the chance of happiness, doesn’t she?
However, the past she thought she left behind resurfaces when she receives an email containing a name; Anne Edwards. A name she thought she’d left behind.
When the emails escalate, she knows she has to find out who is behind them, but at what cost?
Melanie is about to learn that the past will now shape her future forever…
Valerie Keogh is the bestselling author of The Three Women, The Perfect Life and The Dublin Murder Mysteries. The Whisper’s Echo is a twisty and suspenseful psychological thriller which will keep you guessing until the very end. It’s the perfect read for fans of domestic noir fiction, as well as for readers of authors like Louise Jensen, B A Paris and K.L. Slater.
The broken record I have been spinning this year in regards to Valerie Keogh’s books (This is the 6th of her books that I have reviewed this year!), is about to break all the more when I say again that I loved this latest release! I don’t know how she does it, but each new book just keeps outdoing the previous!
The plot had me intrigued and ready for a thrilling ride, which I got in spades. A secret hidden from the past that threatens to be exposed in the present, always get me hooked. Although I had a feeling as to who was behind it all as the story progressed, the why wasn’t expected and did take me by surprise.
The cast of characters assembled have been expertly created and very well developed. It was easy to get caught up in Melanie’s world and feel her pain as everything she has worked so hard for threatens to come crashing down around her. She really did pull on my heartstring and I could completely resonate with her.
The story does move at a slightly slower pace to begin with as the foundation is all laid out, but the strength of it and Valerie Keogh’s flawless writing, had me wanting to keep flicking those pages on the Kindle and that to me is what is most important. Valerie Keogh does a fabulous job at building the tension and suspense having it simmering away in the background, for it to then boil over in its shocking conclusion!
What makes Valerie Keogh a standout author to me, is her ability to create stories that are always fresh and exciting. There is never a dull moment when reading her work and she makes you feel like you are discovering a new and extremely talented author each and every time she releases a book!
All up The Whispers’ Echo is a gripping first class read that you need to add to your reading lists. Valerie Keogh work is such a delight to read and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with for us next! It was my absolute pleasure to read and review The Whispers’ Echo, which I highly recommend.
