Madison walked through the fallen snow, looking left and right. It had been Kaylee’s idea to use the trail through the forest; she said no one would follow them. But Madison lost sight of Kaylee for a moment and when she found her again she wasn’t alone…

In the remote forests of Stillwater, Minnesota, you can scream for days and no one will hear you. So when the bodies of two fifteen-year-old girls are discovered frozen in the snow, Special Agent Nikki Hunt is sure the killer is local: someone knew where to hide the girls and thought they would never be found.

Though Nikki hasn’t been home in twenty years, she knows she must take over the case. The Sheriff’s department in Stillwater has already made a mistake by connecting the girls’ murders to those of a famous serial killer, refusing to consider the idea that the killer could be someone from town.

Then another girl’s body is found, a red silk ribbon tied in her hair, and Nikki realizes that the killer has a connection to her own dark past, and the reason she left Stillwater.

Nikki is not the only person in town who wants those secrets to stay hidden. Will she be able to face her demons before another child is taken?

Gripping and spine-chilling, The Girls in the Snow will make you gasp, unable to put it down until the final heart-pounding twist. Perfect for fans of Karin Slaughter, Lisa Gardner and Robert Dugoni.

The Girls in the Snow is the first book in the Nikki Hunt series and is one sensational read! Wow, this one just completely blew me away and I am so glad that we will have more books in the series to look forward too. If you are looking for a brand new series to sink your teeth into, then look no further, The Girls in the Snow is a must read!

There was no way that I was going to pass up the chance to read this book and with it’s chilling cover, just sets up the tone of book perfectly. This chilliness continues within the pages and even though it is Spring here in Australia, I found myself having to rug up as Stacy took me on a very vivid journey, making me experience the cold and snowy weather as her characters do. It is very atmospheric and enhances the story all the more.

The story held my interest and has been very well researched and plotted. Stacy Green is a great storyteller and knows how to get her readers attention and keep it. She injects just the right amount of tension and suspense throughout, all the while keeping it moving at a fast pace, culminating in a very satisfying conclusion.

Nikki Hunt is such a great character and as a FBI profiler, brings a freshness to the story as opposed to the norm, which sees the lead as always a detective or a detective chief inspector. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy these characters, but mixing it up to gain a different perspective and different skill set, is always a nice change.

Stacy Green is a new author to me and one that I am very glad that has found her way onto my Kindle. Her easy style made for a smooth read and she has delivered on everything with this story and I can’t wait to see where the series heads to next. It was a pleasure to read and review The Girls in the Snow, which I highly recommend.

Thank you to Stacy Green, Bookouture and NetGalley for allowing me to read an advanced copy of The Girls in the Snow which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

This review will be added to, Goodreads, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, Amazon Australia & Amazon US. I will also add to NetGalley, Apple Books, Kobo, Google Play, Barnes & Noble & Waterstones if available. As I am from Australia, I am unable to add to Amazon UK.
