You’ve done a bad thing. She has you in her sights. Now you’re going to pay.

Meet Camilla.

A successful and glamorous fashion magazine editor who has it all.

But Camilla has a secret.

Underneath her poised exterior lurks a cold dark heart and an insatiable need to kill.

A murderer of bad men, Camilla sees herself as a #MeToo vigilante, making the world a better place with every abuser she kills.

When Camilla murders rapist Julian Taylor, she’s sure she can escape justice, but a new detective is given the case and is closing in.

Can Camilla get away with murder or has her luck finally run out?

Holy you know what, what did I just read! OMG where do I even start with this review! I am still shaking over this. Predator is insane, extremely twisted and oh so damn good! This is definitely up there with one of the best books I have read this year! What a debut!!

If I had read Predator a number of years ago, I may have been completely put off by this story, unable to finish it or not even reading it at all, but having watched and read a number of true crime stories and seeing how many get off or a are given a light sentence for some horrific crimes, I can empathise more than I used to with a bit of street justice.

I know this view maybe controversial to some, but I actually found myself rooting for Camilla. While I don’t condone her actions per se, it is past events that motivated her and what was the trigger, that put me fair and square on her side. No child should have to go through that and it made me sick to my stomach.

Camilla is such a fascinating character. Anna Wintour, fashion magazine editor and sophisticated by day and Aileen Wuornos, serial killer monster by night. She has many complexities that are layer upon layer upon layer, but you can’t help but be sympathetic towards her with what she has gone through.

It’s unusual for an author to create a character that has so much depth and in this case, has you conflicted with what they are doing. You know it is wrong, but can understand why she has chosen this path. The kill has become such an obsession, which is a risk to her own self destruction if caught. There were many times where my heart just went out to her.

Predator is a super dark and graphic read and won’t be to everyone’s taste. It deals with some really hard hitting topics which Zoe Caldwell does not sugar coat over in any way and is so brutally honest. There is no holding back at all, which makes this such a powerful and compelling read.

Zoe Caldwell is a new author that I will definitely read more from in the future. As a debut, she has done such an outstanding job and has really delivered with this book and I can’t wait to see what she will come up with next! It was a pleasure to read and review Predator, which I highly recommend.

Thank you to Zoe Caldwell and Bloodhound Books for allowing me to read an advanced copy of Predator, which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

This review will be added to, Goodreads, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, Amazon Australia & Amazon US. I will also add to NetGalley, Apple Books, Kobo, Google Play, Barnes & Noble & Waterstones if available. As I am from Australia, I am unable to add to Amazon UK.
