When Jade Ferguson’s affair with a married man abruptly ends, she’s devastated.
There is no quick fix for a broken heart. A fresh start is required.
New job. New home. New neighbours.
The residents of Gresham Terrace seem pleasant enough.
Except for one…
An absolutely gripping debut psychological thriller.
The Watchful Neighbour follows Jade Ferguson as she embarks on a new life after the breakdown of her relationship with a married man. Moving to a new home is just the fresh start she needs, but what she didn’t expect that comes with it, is the neighbour from hell…
The story is interesting and does not lack in the creepy factor. While it does move at a slower pace, it still had me wanting to flick the pages to see how it was all going to unfold. Although its outcome was no surprise, it still made for an entertaining read.
The only issue I had with this book is Jade. She was not a likeable character at all. Whether this was the authors intention or not, I don’t know, but it was a challenge to connect and find any sympathy towards her, although I did try with what she goes through.
The Watchful Neighbour is Debbie Viggiano’s first foray into the psychological thriller genre and is a solid read. It is well written, kept my attention throughout and I will be on the lookout for more books from her in the genre going forward.
Thank you to Debbie Viggiano for allowing me to read an advanced copy of The Watchful Neighbour which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
This review will be added to, Goodreads, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, Amazon Australia & Amazon US. I will also add to NetGalley, Apple Books, Kobo, Google Play and Barnes & Noble if available. As I am from Australia, I am unable to add to Amazon UK, but will post to Waterstones & Foyles if also available.
Let’s Get to Know Debbie Viggiano
Prior to turning her attention to writing, Debbie Viggiano was, for more years than she cares to remember, a legal secretary. She lives with her Italian husband, a rescued pooch from Crete, and a very disgruntled cat. Occasionally her adult children return home bringing her much joy… apart from when they want to raid the fridge or eat her secret stash of chocolate.
